I may only be getting an Associate Degree and I know in many eyes that an Associate is not that great. But I have been going to this school long enough to almost get a Bachelor’s. President Hinckley did not say, “Get a Bachelor’s Degree.” He said, “Get all the education you can.” I have been educated and I will still keep learning once I leave this place. Education is completely different from degrees. I have learned the things I am interested in learning and the things I never wanted to learn, but I’m really glad I did. I will be able to use the things I have learned here later in life. I know I will. People say that they never thought they would use the knowledge they gained ever again. But since I believe and think the opposite, I try to learn and retain as much as possible.
This has been the best place for me to be and the best place for me to learn. I have grown so much and wouldn’t trade these times, or the cold weather I went through, for anything.
"We are trying an experiment here. We think this school is different from any other university in America. I submit that this campus, with its adjoining buildings, may literally offer a foretaste of heaven."- President Gordon B. Hinckley

Happy Friday the 13th!
todd interviewed with Melaleuca today for a summer internship. i'm really excited to see what will happen. our single's ward bishop and 1st counselor know the CFO and they put in a good word for todd. he looked sharp in his new suit and felt like he answered their questions well. he also had a take a 50 question IQ test after the interview. we both thought that was kind of odd. :) we hope and pray we will be able to stay here in rexburg for the summer.
i have exactly a week and a day before the floral show. everything seems to be coming together, i just hope it actually does. :)
tamara is coming to visit us for the weekend which is super exciting! she'll be here in about 3 hours or so.
todd and i have the special opportunity to work in the temple tomorrow morning at 6 A.M. i will not be getting baptized but i will be one of the endowed sisters who give towels to the girls and help them where i can. this is pretty exciting and kinda unique.

MY FAMILY GOT A DOG!
After a long week or so of dog searching and visiting, my family has gotten a dog. It is a one-year old Aussie (Australian Shephard) mix from a shelter. She is a small/medium size dog which is perfect for us. We are only used to cats. She is a very mild natured dog and good with children and cats (which is good because we have one!). She is housetrained, sleeps in a kennel (indoors) at night, has a low energy level, and does not chew. She is leash trained and does not pull. Aussies are smart dogs, but tireless. Whatever the mix was, she's got a mellow streak. They didn't pay very much and the price included spaying and immunizations! They bring her home today.
We tried having a dog once. It was a puppy which was just way to stressful as our first attempt at a dog and he was gone within a week. This dog will mostly be Tyler (my little brother)'s responsibility to walk her and care for her since Kristin (my little sister) already has a cat, Toby. This will be a good experience, I hope, and we are so excited to see her.

Valentines Day! Flowers, Nerds, and Tunnels!
I was trying to get this posted on Valentines Day or soon after but its been a week. oh well.

It was a good time and i came home to elk stir fry in teriyaki sauce with white rice. Todd is so sweet.
Then i took the explorer to get its oil changed while Todd studied and did homework. I came home to a flower made out of nerds and petals with a very sweet card. You can see the front of the card and inside it said, "Love means never having to say 'Oops, sorry--i farted'" and then some other gushy stuff he wrote. :)
Then kinda as my gift to him, we went up to the train tunnel and went hiking with Jared and Michelle and Justin and Cami. I'm glad we didn't have to snow shoe; the snowmobile tracks had packed down the snow enough.
We walked along Warm River past the train tunnel for about a mile and then set up "camp".
We built a fire and roasted hot dogs and made hot chocolate and just enjoyed ourselves and time spent together.
Valentines Day was really good, but for me it started a day early. For school, I work at the on-campus floral shop as one of my classes and we had to prepare and design all of the orders for Valentines day on Friday because we aren't open on Saturday. It was my first real time working in the floral industry for Valentines day and I had a blast! I really like working fast and hard so I'm not bored and we were busy all day. From 10-1 I worked on the pre-orders and when we opened from 3-6 I was working on walk-ins. We ordered so many flowers from Holland and Ecuador and California for the big day. Our biggest order was this guy that came in and said, "I want to get something for my wife, just keep it under $200!!!" WOW!

Our real gift to each other for Valentine's Day is to go to Brian Regan in Blackfoot on the 25th! He was kinda expensive so that had to count as Valentine's Day! I'm sure I'll post stuff about that when we go on Wednesday!
