TJ is here!!
It's been awhile since TJ was born. He's getting so big already and the minutes are passing by way to quickly. Soon he'll be able to hold up his head!! Where did my little man go!?
TJ (Todd Jeffrey Laney, Jr.) was born Sept 11, 2010 at 2:00 a.m.. He was 7 lbs 5 oz and 20.5 inches long. Todd said that because he was born on 9/11 that he'll be a terror, but he's definitely proven daddy wrong. TJ is an angel. Both of our parents have commented on how lucky we are to have such a calm, easy baby. We went and visited the Kuhns in Rexburg this last weekend and TJ was being fussy. We mentioned how fussy he was being and they said, "THIS is fussy!?!?" haha
This was taken minutes after he was born.

So handsome
He's got huge eyes!
Our first family pictureIt ended up being a c-section and I am healing quite well. I can get in and out of bed much faster and better and I can bend over too. Sometimes I do too much and I'm sore at the end of the day, but it's good to know that I can do that stuff. :) Todd is home a lot more than we expected so he has been a tremendous help! It's so cute to see my two Todd's together!
TJ has gained a little over a pound of his birth weight and grown a centimeter in length. He's got a good little double chin going and his thighs are fattening up. :) He's starting to find his hands and sucks on them whenever he gets the chance (aka keeps them there long enough!). TJ is also getting too strong for our swaddling techniques. He gets his hands out so fast!!!

Loves to smile after a good meal

Absolutley LOVES tummy time...
And his dad!!

Due Date Day!

So, I decided to teach my little guy one of his first lessons of life today. It went something like this:
"Hello little one! I am your mommy. That means you should listen to the things I say. I'm going to tell you something very important. Today is your due date. Do you know what that means?? It means that today is the day that you come into this world and that mommy and daddy get to hold you in their arms. Do you understand little guy? Mommy and Daddy want to meet you. Grandma Curtis is here waiting for you too. It's ok. I know it'll be a little bit scary and I know how claustrophobic you are, but it will be over soon and mommy and daddy can kiss everything better!! Just wanted you to know what 'due date' means. If you come today, in 1 year we will give you birthday cake! And lots of presents!!! Doesn't that sound fun? I think so. You are getting so big and strong! I'm proud of you but it's hard on mommy to be comfortable. I know you get uncomfortable sometimes too. Well, I love you and can't wait to meet you!!"

Baby Update:
Well, I thought I should update a little since my last post. I am currently 39 weeks, 2 days. Not dialated really, maybe like 1/4 cm. haha The doctor said though that if I'm still "great with child" by next week (my due date) then we will pick a day to get induced. So by the 16th we will have a baby!! :) It's good to at least know that he'll come someday. I have almost a constant headache, but they aren't worried because my blood pressure is perfect and there is no protein in my urine. Those would mean toximia. NOT GOOD. Just playing the waiting game for a few more weeks. Hope I don't have to get induced. Everyone that I know that has been induced had to have an emergency c-section. Kinda scary, but we will see. :)

Any time now...

I'm 38 weeks along tomorrow. I'm not dilated as of last Thursday and I'm getting more and more uncomfortable. Our little guy could come any day or hour or minute at this point. The sooner, the better for me, but he'll come when he wants to come and when the Lord wants him to come. My little sister Kristin spent all of last week with me while Todd was in school. It was so nice to have that time together! He started orientation at the U last Monday and classes yesterday. He's got a good schedule though so I don't think I'll be alone very much. I might have to leave him alone to do homework, but at least he'll be home. My ribs are what hurts the most at this point. It's harder and harder to stand up and sit down and get back up. In and out of our car is hard too. Sleeping is getting to be a "wake up every time I need to switch positions and when I need to pee" time. It's not fun, but its preparation for what will come. The nursery is done though and the diaper bag is packed. The hospital bag is close. We have all the hardware we need, at least that we know we need. :)
Here are some pictures of my belly at 37 weeks.
