Happy Father's Day Todd!

I just finished making Todd's Father's Day gift! I'm super excited about it. I'm giving him two matching ties, one for him and one for our little boy so they can match at church. :) It turned out really cute and I really want to go to D.I. and get some more ties to make into baby ties. I know that our little guy is going to spit up all over it, but that's life. I might make some out of material that you can put in the washer. It was really hard to find a place in Rexburg that had a good selection of ties that had doubles. All of them only had 1 of each style. Finally I found some at Circle of Love that were $12 (BOGO [buy one get one]) so $6 a piece. They have a ton of other ties that I think Todd would like that were $28 BOGO until tomorrow, so I might take Todd there tomorrow to get some more ties.
I followed this tutorial to make the tie. I'll probably at least do one more for his blessing. I had to watch a few videos to learn how to tie a tie and I chose to do the Half Winsor. I liked it the best. This was a fun, and cheap project to do. I'm SO excited to give it to him.

Funny story...and Updates

So, funny story. Tuesday night, Todd and I were getting ready for bed. I was brushing my teeth and Todd was changing into his PJs. I am taking a Pest Control class and we have to collect bugs for a bug collection. Anyway...while I was brushing my teeth I saw a spider on our bedroom door frame. At first I was super scared but then realized that I hadn't gotten a spider for my collection yet. I needed to go grab a vile and collect that spider. I screamed "SPIDER, SPIDER" and booked it to the kitchen where my viles are kept. Todd thought I had said, "FIRE FIRE" because that's what it sounds like when you have a toothbrush and and bunch of paste in your mouth. He was looking for smoke and flames and was completely convinced since I had just run into the kitchen as fast as I could. He came out of the bedroom really confused, looking for flames and I gave him the vile and pointed and said, "SPIDER!" He was really relived it was just a spider. He got it into the vile for me and I put it in the freezer. Then he explained why he was so confused! :) It was pretty funny.

Some things that have happened in the past week or so:

I cut Todd's hair and did it a little differently and he said that it is his favorite hair cut he's EVER gotten in his life!!! That made me super happy!! I am always worried about ruining my hansome husband's hair and having him have to deal with it for weeks. I have never taken a hair cutting course or anything. The only training I received was from my mom (who cut all our hair growing up) who just learned by experience. She just showed me how clippers work. I figured out the rest from watching so many hair cuts. I was definitely on a high when he told me that.

We have another clog in our plumbing. It just finally backed up a few days ago and we still haven't been able to get any plumber to come and fix it! We've tried a couple different places and they keep having excuses and postponing service until tomorrow and then tomorrow and so on. It is really getting frustrating. There is a ton of brown, nasty crap in our bathtub and we can't use our toliet. We can use the basement for showers and toliet usage but since I have to go so many times during the day, it is taking a toll. We are just super frustrated with these people.

Our little guy is getting bigger and stronger. His kicks are getting more pronounced but still haven't kept me up at night yet. Thank goodness. Todd has been trying to talk to him more so that he will recognize his daddy's voice and not just mine. Todd laid his head right onto my stomach, ear down, and talked to him about how they are going to go fishing and hunting and be best of friends. Junior kicked him twice in the face...cheek area. :) It was cute. It was almost like he understood and was excited for the outtings with his dad.

Feet are hurting more and I'm getting really tired lately and don't want to dress up or get cute for the day. I thought that was 3rd trimester stuff. 23 weeks.

Going to Winco soon! Super excited for a good grocery run with new meals on the menu!

We are really enjoying watching Modern Family. It's our new favorite show along with Psych and Monk.

I took my little sister, Kristin's senior pictures. I have hundreds of photos from the past year and now I am designing her graduation announcements. Lots of pressure but it's been so fun! She's gorgeous and so grown up now.

Todd got me a really sweet card and New Moon for Mother's Day! Last year he got me Twilight so it's becoming a tradition! He's the best husband I could ever ask for! He's better than I ever expected a husband to be like. More than I deserve sometimes.

Baby Boy Doing Great!

Yes, we are having a boy. Everyone, including us, thought that we were going to have a girl, but two ultrasounds have established that he is very much a boy. We just had our 21 week ultrasound and he is in the 51st percentile in height and weight. He's measuring 3 days early, so he would come on Sept 5th or so. My due date isn't changed at all, but it would be nice if he was a little earlier. I already can't wait to see him. Todd and I have both felt him move, on the inside and out and it's a really great feeling.
15.5 weeks (3D)

21 weeks

In other news, Todd will be attending University of Utah this fall after we both graduate from BYU-Idaho in July. He will be doing his MACC (Master's Degree in Accounting) which is only a year more of schooling, which will be so nice. No clue where we will end up after that. If you know of any housing options in Salt Lake City, close to campus, would you please let us know. Also, I will have to transfer to another doctor to deliver this baby so if you know of any good clinics, doctors or widwives, that would also be nice to know.

We're having a Baby!!

Todd and I are so excited to announce that we are having a baby!!! Our due date is September 8th, 2010! We had this ultrasound at 9, almost 10 weeks and everything looked "perfect" (to quote the doctor):
I haven't felt nauseous really at all. I had a little spell for about 2 weeks but food cured it every time. I am currently 12 weeks along and doing great. This picture was taken just before 12 weeks. A little pooch but I had that before.
We are just super excited to have a little baby in our home. Todd and I will graduate with Bachelor's degrees in July from BYU-Idaho and then Todd will start graduate school in the Fall about the time we have our baby so that will be interesting. We don't know what school he will be going to yet though.

I'll try to keep this a little more updated!

My big brother got married!!

Todd and I just got back from Arkansas and my brother's wedding. He married a great girl named Grace who has a great family! We really enjoyed ourselves at the wedding. It was one of the most fun wedding we've ever been to. I did the flowers for them and really enjoyed it. It was more stressful than I thought but still really rewarding. We arrived in Little Rock Thursday afternoon to Grace's sister and sister-in-law (Liz and Maria May or Moonpie) holding up a "Welcome Curtis Family" sign! As soon as we got to the house, we started on the flowers. My whole family helped process all the flowers. It was fun to share what I do with them. Todd was cutting a stem with scissors (WRONG) and accidently pinched himself. He still has a bruise on his stomach. "Welcome to the floral world!" After we finished processing and got the flowers in water, I started on the boutonierres. I got all 4 of them done and then started on the wedding bouquet. I needed to at least have the groom's bout and the bridal bouquet before we headed to Memphis Friday morning until Saturday right before the reception. I also needed to store them so that they would last until Saturday. I got everything done in time and also two of four of the bridesmaids bouquets.
We left for Memphis which is about 2 1/2 hours away from Little Rock and had a luncheon at Macaroni Grill. It was nice and the father's each did a little speech about the couple. I cried of course. I was just so proud of my big brother. Then we checked into the hotel and got ready to go to the Memphis temple for Grace's endowment session. It is a really small temple, smaller than a stake center by far. Maybe the size of a normal church building. It was a nice little session though and the Celestial room was really pretty. It's good to see Jason so happy. The next morning was the sealing. It was good as well. We were just kind of sad that my maternal grandfather couldn't be the one to seal them. His health just wouldn't allow him to travel all the way to Arkansas from Nephi, Utah.
They came out of the temple and looked so great sealed together for eternity. They got their flowers and we started the picture taking marathon. All the bridesmaids were there at the temple too even though only Kristin (my sister) was LDS. It was a good missionary experience for Grace to talk to her friends about what was happening and that she's with Jason forever now. The flowers looked great on camera which is always a good thing. I just need to get some nice pictures from the photographer Kelly Brown. After we left the temple, we headed right back to Little Rock to finish preparing for the reception which was at their house.
Their house was beautiful and was transformed. Everyone else got their flowers and the other florist who did the flowers for around the house looked great as well. We had different styles but it was still fine. The food was catered and good. We decorated the car pretty cute, and not too messy and bad. They threw the bouquet and the garter and danced on the deck for the rest of the night. We said goodbye to the couple with sparklers and then cleaned up. We went to church the next morning and took a flight back to Salt Lake.
It was a great weekend and I'm so happy that they are married and that they love eachother so much.
